Process: SAW

Submerged arc welding (SAW) is one of the most common and simplest arc welding processes. SAW applications use a continuously-fed consumable electrode to produce deep-penetrating, reliable welds. The weld material and arc zone are submerged under a layer of granular flux that becomes conductive once it’s molten. The downside is that SAW processes can only be performed with ferrous metals, such as stainless steel, and some nickel-based alloys.
